    The opening of Denmark´s first national park in August 2008
    provided a fitting venue for a new composition as a tribute to
    Thy, Denmark´s natural beauty. Knud Sørensen furnished a
    text which fused with Craig Goodman´s music to give life to a
    musical poem; quiet, yet intense in its deeply felt love for this land and
     the life it nurtures.

    There were many people from all walks of life at the ceremony;
    Denmarks prime minister, the minister of environment, nature

    lovers, sports enthusiasts, children and ballons, homing
    pigeons and many of us from the festival. The weather was

bright and sunny that day, a welcome change especially after so much
     foreboding wind and rain just before

    There was much appreciative applause for the music and the speeches,
    and lots of smiles. But the truly memorable part of this event

    which was the result of so many peoples´noble efforts, was
    that here we were so many, at peace, happy to be alive in this spot of
     exquisite natural beauty in Thy, Denmark, formally recognized now for
     what we have always known it to be.
